Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, disillusioned by Donald Trump's presidential win over Kamala Harris, are reportedly relocating permanently to the Cotswolds, England, after supporting Harris's campaign and concluding Ellen's long-running talk show in 2022.
Donald Trump's presidential victory over Kamala Harris has reportedly prompted Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, to leave the United States permanently and settle in the Cotswolds, South West England, about two hours from London. According to reports, the couple had purchased their new home before the election, and feeling “very disillusioned” by Trump’s win, decided to move quickly, even considering listing their Montecito, California home.
Recently, Ellen and Portia were spotted enjoying a visit to Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in Burford, England, where they joined singer Natalie Imbruglia and others for an acoustic performance by The Corrs. Ellen, a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris, had previously endorsed her on social media and donated $3,300 to her campaign. She expressed excitement about Harris potentially becoming the next president, writing on Instagram, “There is nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come.”
Ellen DeGeneres concluded her tenure as the host and executive producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022 after 19 successful seasons and 64 Daytime Emmy Awards, amid controversies surrounding workplace allegations. Her last project was the Netflix stand-up special For Your Approval, released on September 24.
